Album of the Week

This is an album that I heard for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I can honestly say it's quickly made it's way into my list of all-time favourites.

Soul, gospel and funk - you don't need me to tell you that that's what Aretha does. This album has precisely that, but to a standard that you would not believe.
It's not just about the voice, but all of the mucisians creating an often understated but always wonderous groove.
The title track is the most gospel flavoured, with that building beat that makes Aretha's gospel stand out.

Don't listen to "Rock Steady" while driving, or you will crash - but at least you'll die with a smile on your face.
Also a mention must go to "Border Song (Holy Moses)", written by a then relatively unknown Elton John & Bernie Taupin, I've not heard the original, but it simply cannot compete with this slow-building groove-drenched butterfly-in-the-stomach death-star of a track.

1. Oh Me Oh My
2. Daydreaming
3. Rock Steady
4. Young Gifted And Black
5. All The King's Horses
6. Brand New Me
7. April Fools

8. I've Been Loving You Too Long
9. First Snow In Kokomo
10. Long And Winding Road
11. Didn't I
12. Border Song (Holy Moses)

Riga Baby

They both left the curtains open, doors open, clothes on, yet Si managed to take off his shoes and turn off his light - pussy. Ant's hardcore. And, yes ladies, Bayton is single.
